This is a little family owned place. Do not expect the Ritz or even Hampton Inn. But it sure beats Motel 6. The King Philip has the vibe of a 50's with a bit of today mixed in. Enjoy the dairy bar out side or even the restaurant. This was our 2nd time here and it won't be the last. Sam in the dairy bar was a hoot.
Great food and drink. I perform Acoustic Guitar Vocals here once or twice a month.
And by the way, I grew up here and used to come here as a kid and it used to be great. But, they have not renovated anything but the sign outside in probably 30 years. I think they are still using the same dishes and silverware too.
I usually only go here for drinks because the bar area is nice. But someone gave me a gift certificate so I took my kids to dinner here. The buffet on Wednesday night was just okay ($17). I got that because it was cheaper than pretty much everything on the menu. Nothing special kind of bland... Blah. my daughter got Buffalo boneless chicken wings and they were awesome. My son got the kids spaghetti with marinara, way over priced at $8, and it was just okay. I think the pasta was overcooked and the sauce not very tasty. My other daughter got the lobster mac and cheese... $22. The lobster was awful, spongy and tasteless. I mention to the waitress that it was awful and she said that she would let the cook know. That was all. Didn't ask her if she wanted it cooked again, something different, or a discount on it. My daughter ate about 1/4 of the mac and cheese because it was just awful. the waitress did not offer another plate or any discount I will not go there again to eat food.
Amazing hostess, the owner is a good dude. Great food. Comfortable.
We had the best waitress. Too bad 1 waitress was horrible and vile. I was able to hear her do nothing but complain to others, be extremely rude with other staffers, and be overly demanding. All in front of me and my kids. The food was just ok. I've had better in the past. Buffet was cold and broken down right as we ordered. Not our waitresses fault as she had told the rude waitress that she had customers ordering the buffet. But she still didn't care and continued to break it down even when our waitress told her for a second and third time, she had customers eating from the buffet. Our waitress tried to make it right, but by then, it was just too late. Then the rude waitress kept pointing to our table as our table was "in the way", to our nice waitress. She nicely said she was waiting for us to finish. I was so upset at that point, so we got up and left. But not before I called her out on her rudeness. Won't go back ever again. Not the way we wanted to spend our Thanksgiving with our family. The place has truly gone down hill with their wait staff.
